Richard D. Hills, 65, of Coman Road, Pittsford, passed away Monday, April 30, 2001, at Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio.

He was born May 24, 1935, in Prattville to Clair and Leta (Timberman) Hills. He married Sharon Lee Sorgenfrie on Jan. 29, 1971, in Waldron.

Richard was a lifelong farmer and Wright Township area resident. He retired from Reed National in Waldron in 1998 after 36 years of service. He graduated from Waldron High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He attended the Wesleyan Church.

Surviving Richard besides wife, Sharon, are two daughters, Nancy Sears of Toledo and Lisa (David) Bernath of Waldron; two sons, Robert Prange of Kalamazoo and Raymond Prange of Orange, Calif.; a brother, Robert (Emma) Hills of Pittsford; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Betty Lou Hills, Shirley Hills and Jean Muck; and two brothers, Billie and Everett Hills.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with pastor Tom Brodbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Waldron Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Waldron Wesleyand Church.
