Mary Margaret Williams, 85, of Wright Twp., Mich., passed away Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, at her home. She was born April 15, 1924, in Wright Twp., the daughter of John W. and Gertie E. (Rininger) Balis. She married Lowell C. Williams on Oct. 13, 1945, in Angola, Ind., and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1970.

Mary was a life-long Wright Twp. area resident and graduated from Waldron High School in 1943. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

Surviving Mary is one daughter, Barbara (William) Howard of Hudson; one son, Steve (JoAnn) Williams of Pittsford; three grandchildren, Kelly Williams of Ann Arbor, Zachary (Nicole) Williams of Mt. Pleasant and Andrea Howard; one great-grandson, Davis Steven Williams; one sister, Maggie Clark of Hillsdale; a close friend, Virgil Zeller of Genoa, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and and four brothers.

Graveside services for Mary will be Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Prattville Cemetery in Wright Twp. with Pastor Kim Repp officiating. There will be no visitation hours.
