Lavohn R. Fackler, 90, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier, Ohio, where he has been a resident for the past three years. He was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Amboy Township to Lawrence and Bertha (Mohr) Fackler. On June 15, 1937, he married Goldie M. Traxler in Angola, Ind., and she precedes him in death on Jan. 24, 2004. Lavohn was a graduate of Waldron High School. He lived and worked his entire life in Pioneer, Ohio, and the surrounding area. He was employed at Mobil Oil service station in his younger years, then farming and carpentry, and then retiring on their farm in rural Camden. He is survived by two sons, Richard (and wife Norma) of Camden and Neil (and wife Loa) of Pioneer; two daughters, Mrs. Allen (“Bobbie”) Clark of Pioneer and Mrs. Jerry (Beth) Emens of Camden; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, George at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home; two sisters, Eloise Thomas of Defiance, Ohio, and Betty Goodwin of Ponco City, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Fackler and Mabel Fackler, both of Pioneer; a brother-in-law, Richard Grube of Defiance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Loren and Charles; and one sister Evelyn Grube. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pioneer United Methodist Church in Pioneer with Pastor Michael Raypholtz to officiate. The interment will be at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Memorials can be made to the C.H. & W.C. Hospice or the Pioneer United Methodist Church. |
