Jack Evers, Class of 1954
Jack Evers, 73, of Waldron, Mich., passed away Friday evening, Dec. 25, 2009, at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice
Facility in Defiance, Ohio. He was born in Waldron on Feb. 18, 1936, to the late James Arthur and Esther (Kemerly)
Evers. Jack married Janet Krum on Feb. 7, 1960, in Napoleon, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 22, 2005.
Jack was a 1954 graduate of Waldron High School. Besides a life-long farmer, he was also employed by Dinnerbell
in Archbold for 36 years and retired from Sauder Woodworking in Archbold after 10 years. He was a member of the
Fayette United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving Jack are one son, Jerry (Diana) Evers of Waldron; a daughter, Jodi (Jim) Tuinier of Augusta, Mich.;
two brothers, James “Bill” Evers of Pioneer, Ohio, and Orin (Judy) Evers of Allen, Mich.; two sisters, Evelyn
Ramsay and Cora (Bob) Baldwin both of Adrian, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Brittany, Kyle, and, Courtney
Tuinier.
Besides his wife, Janet, Jack was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alva Ray, Walter Dale and
Leroy “Mick” Evers; and six sisters, Velma Rose, Dorothy Krauss, Alta Simmons, Carma Kunkle, Erma Woods, and
Iva Town.
A funeral service for Jack Evers will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fayette United
Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Currier officiating. Interment will follow at Waldron Cemetery. The family
will receive friends for visitation on Monday at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m., and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial donations to the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center
or the Fayette United Methodist Church.
